The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, consecrated the Revd Canon David Williams as the Bishop of Basingstoke in a service at Winchester Cathedral yesterday.

Archbishop Justin presided at the consecration service for Bishop David, who succeeds the Right Revd Peter Hancock, who is now the Bishop of Bath and Wells.
