Lambeth Palace is the London home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, his family and two religious communities. It is the centre of his ministry, worship and hospitality.
As a working palace and a family home, Lambeth Palace is not open to the public on a daily basis. The Palace is currently undergoing an extensive programme of refurbishment. As such the Palace is currently closed for Tours.
Palace Tours
There are no tours scheduled during the refurbishment. It is our intention to recommence tours following the refurbishment in summer 2024.
We will announce when bookings for 2024 are to open. We will announce the date on our website here and across our social media channels. The diary will open towards the end of the refurbishment work, when availability to visit can be confirmed.

Library Tours
Tours of the Lambeth Palace Library are overseen by the library. Further details and scheduled tours can be found on their website here.
The tour will explain the history of the library and its collection, as well as their journey to a brand new, purpose-built home for the books and documents cared for.
