Lambeth Palace hosted a church’s coffee morning for seniors yesterday to encourage its commitment to sharing Jesus with older people.

Holy Trinity Claygate, a parish church in Surrey, holds a regular event called Connections, which offers a safe and welcoming community for local seniors living in Claygate to connect with each other and the church and to discover the love of Jesus.

Archbishop Justin Welby, who has made evangelism a priority for his ministry, visited Holy Trinity Claygate last September and invited the Connections group to Lambeth Palace.

Around 130 people regularly attend Connections for coffee and fellowship, a ‘Thought for the Day’ and various activities.

Archbishop Justin Welby’s chaplain, the Revd Dr Jo Wells, spent some time with the group at Lambeth Palace and gave a Thought for the Day.
