Archbishop of Canterbury visit Hogar Episcopal School before attending a luncheon at his residence Neil Turner

The Archbishop of Canterbury visited Costa Rica, marking the end of his 12-day tour of Central America.

During his time in Costa Rica, Archbishop Justin met with local churches, political leaders and charities. He preached and presided at a Eucharist service at Cathedral El Buen Pastor in the capital San José.

He and Mrs Welby also visited the Hogar Episcopal School, a social programme of the Costa Rican Episcopal Church. This is a home school which provides education, support and healthcare to children, a large percentage of whom are immigrants. The Archbishop heard presentations from the children, including singing and dancing, and also testimonies from their mothers - who had emigrated from Venezuela and Nicaragua - about how much the school helps them.
