Archbishop Justin Welby at the UN

From its inception, the Anglican Communion Fund had an intent to give Anglican voices a ‘seat at the table’ in Global Institutions. We fund representation at the United Nations, the Anglican Centre in Rome and the European Institutions.

Our status as a diverse global family, means that wherever globally important issues are unfolding – poverty, climate change, violence against women and girls, conflict, migration and refugees – we are there.

Our work and the work of others across the Anglican Communion, enables us to understand the issues, and we want to use our experience to influence global policy from an Anglican perspective.

Some highlights of our 2017-2018 United Nations Representation work include:

  • Consulting on drafts of the Global Compacts of Refugees (GCR) and Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM)
  • Supporting a delegation of 18 Anglican women from across the Communion to participate in the UN Commission on the Status of Women
  • Membership of working groups for major events on HIV, Migration, Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict
