Archbishop Justin Licenses new Archdeacon to the Army

Army Service 1

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, licensed and collated the Revd Clinton Langston, Deputy Chaplain General, as the Archdeacon to the Army in a lunchtime service at Lambeth Palace today. Clinton was presented to the Archbishop by the Rt Revd Nigel Stock, Bishop at Lambeth and Bishop to the Forces.

Army Service 2

Clinton has been a priest since 1991, and became a Padre in 1994. Since then he has served in Omagh and in Bosnia. During the service today Archbishop Justin spoke about how much he appreciates the ministry of all military chaplains.

The service was attended by family and friends of the new Archdeacon, as well as a number of Army guests and both the Chaplain to the Fleet and the Chaplain in Chief of the RAF.
