Archbishop of Canterbury to preach at Installation of the Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Burundi

The Archbishop of Canterbury will preach at the Installation ceremony of The Rt Revd Eraste Bigirimana, who has been appointed as the sixth Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Burundi.   

Archbishop Sarah will attend the service at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Bujumbura, Burundi, on Sunday 23 August.   

Bishop Eraste had served as Bishop of Bujumbura since 2013, before his election in May to serve as the Primate of the Anglican Church of Burundi. He takes over from the Most Rt Revd Sixbert Macumi, who has led the Province since 2021.
