Throughout the year, we open the historic halls and rooms of Lambeth Palace to the public in support of local charities.
Come and explore areas rarely seen, discover a living piece of London’s history, and support a charity.
Palace tours
Lambeth Palace is not currently running a regular programme of tours. We are conducting a volunteer recruitment drive, and we intend to resume regular tours later in 2026.
We will announce when tours recommence on our website here and across our social media channels. Follow @visitlambethpalace on Instagram and Facebook, or email [email protected] for updates.
Library tours
Tours of the Lambeth Palace Library are overseen by the library. Further details and scheduled tours can be found on their website here.
The tour will take you through the history of the library and its collections, as well as their journey to a brand new, purpose-built home for the books and documents cared for.
Palace open days
Held in the summer, our open days give visitors the opportunity to experience the Palace. Funds raised from tickets, refreshments and activities are donated to charities to support their work.
The 2026 programme of open days will be announced shortly. Follow @visitlambethpalace on Instagram or Facebook for updates.
What to expect
On these exclusive HOPE Days, visitors will enjoy self-guided tours through some of the Palace’s most historic and significant spaces, including:
- The State Rooms – where generations of Archbishops have welcomed guests and dignitaries.
- The Guard Room – one of our stunning historical halls dating back to the 14th century.
- The Great Hall – built in 1663 by Archbishop William Juxon.
- The Crypt Chapel – a sacred space for prayer and reflection.
More than a tour – A mission of hospitality and giving
HOPE Days are not just an opportunity to explore the Palace - they are hosted by incredible charities and serve as a celebration of generosity, hospitality, and community. This is a chance to reconnect - with history, with one another, and with the mission at the heart of Lambeth Palace.
