The Archbishop of Canterbury is the Primate of All England, the most senior bishop in the Church of England, with a public role in guiding the Church and contributing to national life. They are also an ecumenical leader, building relationships with other Christian traditions in the UK and around the world. In addition, the Archbishop is a significant inter-religious leader, working with other faith communities to promote understanding, support dialogue and respond to moments of tension at home and overseas.
