The Sisters of Lambeth Palace

One of the cottages in the grounds of Lambeth Palace is home to a small community of Sisters – at present just one Sister, a member of the Community of the Sisters of the Love of God (SLG).

The remit of the Sisters is to be a ‘praying presence’, praying especially for the Archbishop and his staff; acting as sacristan at Morning and Evening Prayer and the Eucharist; and updating the intercession book.

They also help with hospitality at Palace events, especially those which include an act of worship, and provide informal pastoral support for Lambeth Palace staff and residents.
