Archbishop to address Church of Scotland General Assembly

Friday 20th May 2016

The Archbishop of Canterbury will address the Church of Scotland’s General Assembly on Wednesday.

Archbishop Justin Welby will speak to a landmark report, the Columba Declaration, a historic agreement recognising the longstanding ecumenical partnership between the Church of Scotland and the Church of England and paving the way for future joint working between the two churches.

In February, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Rev Dr Angus Morrison, gave a presentation to the General Synod in London, before a debate which formally approved the agreement.
