Listen To God: Hear the Poor | Paula Gooder on who we help and why

Thursday 10th April 2014

On day six of Listen To God: Hear the Poor, Dr Paul Gooder speaks on the importance that Jesus placed on our care for those we meet. But, she says, Matthew’s Gospel shows that Jesus was not so much concerned with how many people we help – but with how and why we help them.

This is the 6th daily reflection for Listen To God: Hear the Poor, a joint initiative between Archbishop Justin Welby and Cardinal Vincent Nichols, in which Christian social action is being highlighted and held in prayer in the run-up to Easter.

Dr Gooder is reflecting on the psalm and reading for today, which are Psalm 126 and Matthew 25:31, 34-40.
