The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has announced a new higher degree programme as an expansion of the Archbishop's Examination in Theology.

Winner of £15,000 Theology Prize Announced
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams has announced that the winner of the Michael Ramsey Prize 2007 for theological writing is "What is the point of being a Christian?" by Fr Timothy Radcliffe.

Archbishop of Canterbury Awards Lambeth Degree to Rabbi Tony Bayfield
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams, presided over a Lambeth Degree award ceremony in the Guard Room at Lambeth Palace. On this occasion he awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity to Rabbi Tony Bayfield, in recognition of his leadership in inter Faith relations through lecturing, writing, teaching and in particular his work as a President of the Council of Christians and Jews.

Book on Resurrection wins Ramsey Prize
A book exploring the resurrection of Jesus in the light of ancient pagan, Jewish and Christian beliefs on death and resurrection has won the first Ramsey Prize for Theological writing. Bishop Tom Wright's work The Resurrection of the Son of God - Christian Origins and the Question of God (SPCK) was selected by a distinguished panel of six judges as 'the most promising theological work of the current age' from a short list of five.

Archbishop Celebrates Lambeth Diploma Centenary
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has marked the centenary of the Lambeth Diploma today with three academic awards at Lambeth Palace. Dr Williams presented a Lambeth Diploma to Mr Mark Ratcliffe and also Lambeth M.A. degrees to Dr Noel Cox and The Revd Vivienne Armstrong-MacDonnell.

Archbishop Makes Cross of St Augustine and Lambeth Cross Awards
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, today made awards of a Lambeth Cross and Cross of St Augustine to eleven recipients at a ceremony in the Chapel at Lambeth Palace. The Archbishop awarded the Lambeth Cross to Brother Roger of Taize, (though as he was unable to be present the award was collected by a brother of the same community, Brother Alois).
